The Chevrolet Malibu is a mid-size car manufactured and marketed by Chevrolet from 1964 to 1983 and since 1997. Originally the Malibu was a rear-wheel-drive intermediate, then GM changed the Malibu nameplate as a front-wheel-drive car in 1997. Safety in vehicles is very important and the Malibu’s standard safety features on the eighth generation Malibu includes dual-stage front airbags for the driver and front passenger, along with pelvic/thorax side-impact and knee airbags upfront also. It also includes roof rail airbags with rollover protection which are standard. Also available as an option are second-row head/thorax side-impact airbags, lane departure warning system with forwarding collision alert and a rearview camera system. Safety features were also remade and were improved for the 2019 Malibu which included Low-Speed Forward Automatic Braking, IntelliBeam high-beam assist headlamps and a semi-automated parking system.
The Chevy Malibu has had a couple of things done differently to it but has always kept up with its safety equipment. Making sure everything works properly is very important. If you get into an accident, even a minor one, always make sure you get a SRS airbag module reset. Safety Restore can help save thousands of dollars by using your old airbag module and repairing to it's new self again.
