Ford Bronco II Seat Belt
Ford Motor Company manufactured the Ford Bronco II—a compact sport utility vehicle (SUV)—in 1984 until 1990. With a length of 158.3 inches and height of 86.2 inches from 1983 until 1988, a length of 161.9 inches and height of 69.9 inches from 1989 until 1990, and a width of 68 inches, the Ford Bronco II was a bit larger than the 1966-1977 Ford Bronco. It also permitted a greater degree of structural and mechanical cohesion over the original Bronco.

Assembly of the Ford Bronco II took place in the Louisville Assembly in Louisville, Kentucky. The body style of the Ford Bronco II was a 3-door wagon and it featured a front-engine, rear-wheel drive, and four-wheel drive layout. It was most closely related to the Ford Ranger. The powertrain of the Bronco II consisted of a couple of different engines and several transmission options, both in manual and automatic. The engines offered were a 2.8 L Cologne V6 and a 2.3 L Mitsubishi 4D55T turbo-diesel I4.  The manual transmission options came in 4-speed and 5-speed, while the automatic transmission options came in 3-speed and 4-speed.

In the 1991 model year, the Ford Explorer was presented, ceasing production of the Ford Bronco II.

Although the Ford Bronco isn’t as prevalent out on the roads today as it was in its day, there are certainly some on the road still. If you own a Ford Bronco II, you should be taking good care of it, just like you should do with any vehicle—regardless of make or model. Regularly check up on the different components, especially the safety features. Over time, seat belts can become frayed or worn out, or the mechanism in them can get locked up after an accident.
